Tom&Co. is the brainchild of Tom DeVito, an entrepreneur from Staten Island, NY and a self-taught graphic designer. Nurturing a passion and knack for marketing and graphic design, he started his first business ‘Metrok Ink’- a design and printing company in 2003 when he was only 22 years old.
For his brilliant work, Thomas DeVito was honored with the ‘Louis R. Miller Award’ in the ‘emerging business’ category from the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce in 2008. He stepped aside from the printing business in 2012. That’s when he founded ‘Tom & Co’- an advanced digital agency focused on growing businesses and brands by building brilliant websites for them that actually converted leads into paying customers.
‘I built my first website in 2003 and learned through trial and error what works and what doesn’t. We built a trust-building, lead-generating, mobile-friendly website for our business and now we do the same for our clients. I am constantly learning, implementing and tweaking to keep our sites and our client sites at the top for our keywords.’- Thomas DeVito
Thomas DeVito realized very soon in his business that the secret sauce to helping a website grow and rank higher organically is actually a combination of different elements. A website must have a striking design- it must be aesthetically pleasing and the design must be in harmony with the brand, or else it won’t captivate the users’ attention. Additionally, it must also be user-friendly and responsive, or else the traffic won’t last on it for long, increasing the bounce rate. And it must also be search engine optimized, or else it will forever be lost amongst the myriads of other websites, and never rank on the first page of Google.
Owing to his burning desire to truly help businesses experience exponential growth, Thomas DeVito began working on creating just the perfect websites. Tom & Co’s popularity began increasing in Staten Island, and it soon emerged as a trustworthy brand that actually delivers what it claims.
In 2012, Thomas DeVito sold his printing business and invested the money in Tom & Co. He truly believes that one needs to evolve with changing time. Realizing how there exists a huge gap in how business owners use the internet, and how it can actually scale their businesses, he began working on Tom & Co. He practices what Wayne Gretzky once said,
“I skate to where the puck is going to be, not to where it has been.”
